Our Maara Kai crew in action

OPEN DAY:

He mihi nui ka tika | THANK YOU ALL for a successful Open Day event.

We sold out of our Kamokamo Chutney and nearly 100% of our Rongoā products - but the best part of all was having our whānau and community up here with us.

He Tipu - Puawai te Ora!

Karawhiua e te whānau

A person wearing a helmet and orange shirt cutting a large fallen tree with a chainsaw in an outdoor area with dirt ground and trees.

Site Operations:

Yesterday’s main site operation at He Tipu saw 3 x certified contractors carefully work to fell a Single Tall Red Gum tree that was growing next to our Grow-houses, putting them and our people who will eventually work within this area at significant risk of damage or injury.

Prior to any major operation, He Tipu developed a Job Safety Analysis and Tree Felling Instruction to ensure that all Health and Safety compliance were followed.

We’d like to take the opportunity to thank our certified Tree Fellers, Joe Wall and Joe Skeen for their wicked chainsaw skills, along with assistance from certified machine operator, Albert Wall and Roger Flintoff A.K.A Moppy who managed the Cherry Picker and Tractor to help with the clearing. Special mention also to one of He Tipu Director’s, Moananui Rameka,
who stood as Safety IC. Job well done by all! Watch this space for Firewood updates coming soon…

E Ora Tāne - Pest Management. www.lrft.co.nz
To protect the native environment we are building, it is essential we combat the hazard pests create. Since commencement of our partnership in July this year, E Ora Tāne has succeeded in capturing 25 possums, 17 rats and 42 rabbits. We look forward to continuing this important work.
