Oneone ora

Healthy soil is vital to enabling and protecting so many important factors within our lives on papatuanuku and under ranginui. At He Tipu we are trying hard to exercise regenerative and natural methods - drawn from matauranga Maori. The high pumice content in the central plateau area presents challenges to our soil and growing, but this provides an opportunity to develop a methodology that could benefit many.

Provenance [Whakapapa]

Knowing and understanding the provenance of our plants and food are important principles at He Tipu. For our native plants to survive in our rohe, it is important that our seeds are from this area - or plants from outside our area must be acclimatised. Likewise, our food grown at He Tipu is carefully treated - we care about what we are growing.

Para kore

We support the Para kore kaupapa and we are keen to see how far we can push a ZERO waste culture. We have started with the traditional recycling of domestic rubbish to reduce what goes to landfill. More importantly we are trying to reuse plant pots and other non-organic materials. Our compost rows and biochar projects contain more matter that we have salvaged.

Auahi kore

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
